There are some wedding venues that simply stay with you, not just because of how they look, but because of how they feel. Bower in the wood is one of those rare places. Tucked gently into the landscape you forget just how close you are to the A21 located less than a mile away from the venue, that's not to say that you ever hear the road.
Olivia & Chris's wedding really reminded me why I got into wedding photography. connecting with great couples in some amazing places.
One of the most beautiful things about Bower in the wood is how effortlessly it lends itself to a low maintenance wedding, it doesn't need heavy styling or elaborate decoration because nature has already done its work. When talking with team at Bower, they mention how they like to just let nature takes it course, meaning that no two wedding days are the same, I love that !
Alison at Daises in bloom was absolutely incredible with the flowers. Being so careful and making sure everything looked its best prior to Olivia & Chris arriving.
Bower in the wood really was the perfect venue for Olivia & Chris, they wanted a venue that allowed them to be present and in the moment. They planned their day to be very relaxed with little structure, I loved this though, it really allowed me to capture the natural them.
After the ceremony, we took some time to wander through the woods ( Not too much time ) but enough time to capture Olivia & Chris for their couples portraits. This is part of the day which I find most couples worry as they worry that they are going to have pose for photos however I just love capturing my couples walking through nature, if my couples want to stop for a cuddle and a kiss then that also fine.
Wedding speeches at Bower can be a little different, Olivia & Chris opted for speeches right after the confetti and group photos. I actually found this to work really well and it meant that Olivia & Chris could then go and enjoy their food.
Olivia & Chris wedding at Bower in the wood was a perfect reminder of how powerful it can be to keep things simple and true to yourselves. Surrounded by nature, free from distraction and filled with genuine connection, their day unfolded in the most effortless and meaningful way. It’s venues like this that allow couples to fully embrace the moment, and it’s exactly the kind of environment where my relaxed approach to photography feels most at home.
If you’re planning a wedding at Bower in the Wood, or dreaming of a nature-filled celebration surrounded by woodland, fresh air, and beautiful natural light, it truly is a special place to begin your next chapter. Being able to document days like this — quietly, honestly, and without interruption — is what I love most. Capturing real moments in places that mean something, and preserving them in a way that allows you to relive not just how your wedding looked, but how it felt, is at the heart of everything I do.
